2LT Thomas E. Cartmell, USAAF: A Young Man Went Off to War
Dr. Hughey’s exploration of his Uncle Tom Cartmell, a fighter pilot who was shot down and killed in the last days of WWII. During his 2 years in the Army, Tom wrote hundreds of letters to his parents, his sister, and his wife. These are transcribed and annotated with explanations of the times, family photographs, sounds and contemporary videos. His wartime experience is presented, in his own voice.
